CULTURE

Why audio is winning the attention war

Online audio consumption has reached record heights. According to Edison Research, over 80% of Americans listen to digital audio monthly, and 135 million engage with spoken-word audio every single day.

This surge is driven by audiences who prefer consuming content on the go. With younger demographics doubling their listening time recently, integrating natural AI audio like this into your articles ensures you reach your readers wherever they are.

From page to player

No recording studio, no microphone, no audio editing.
  1. 01Paste a link or your text

Give Voxi.fm the URL of a published article and it pulls out the readable text, or paste the text yourself.

  2. 02Choose a voice

Pick a voice, from calm newsreaders to warm storytellers, and preview it before you generate.

  3. 03Generate and embed

Your audio is ready in a few minutes. Add the embed code to your CMS template once and the player loads on each article's page by itself, or paste it into a single post. You can also download the audio for Substack or anywhere else.

Built for the newsroom

Everything an editor needs to publish audio next to the text, whether it's a newsroom, a magazine or a newsletter.

Read-along player

Embeds with one line of HTML and highlights each word as it is read. Listeners can change the speed too.

PodcastsComing soon

Turn your articles into a podcast feed for Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and reach listeners who never visit your site.

45+ languages

Universal voices detect the language of the text and keep their own character, so your house voice can travel.

Accessibility

Give readers who would rather listen, or who find reading hard, another way into every article.

Analytics

See how often each article's player is loaded, played and listened to all the way through.

AI agents

Generate audio from Claude and other agents through the Voxi.fm MCP server.

One article, one credit

Plans count articles, not minutes, so a long read costs the same as a short one.

Frequently asked questions

What does Voxi.fm cost?

Each article you turn into audio uses one credit. New accounts get five free credits, no credit card required. Paid plans add a monthly allowance, and extra credits come in packs of 10 for $10. See pricing for the plans.

Which languages are supported?

More than 45. English, Swedish and Japanese have their own dedicated voices, and universal voices narrate any supported language, including Spanish, German and French.

Do I need a developer to add the player to my site?

No. The player is a single script tag that you paste into your page, and it works on any website that lets you add HTML. You can point it at the part of the page that holds your article, so the highlighting matches your layout.

How long does it take to generate audio?

Most articles are ready within a few minutes. Longer articles take a little more time because they are processed in segments, and you can follow the progress from your library.

Can I change the audio after it is generated?

Yes. Edit the text or choose a different voice and generate the audio again. On paid plans you can also customize or remove the short Voxi.fm intro.

Can AI agents create audio with Voxi.fm?

Yes. Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and other agents can connect to the Voxi.fm MCP server and generate audio from inside their workflow. It lands in your library like any other audio.
